New Loki Poster: The Countdown Begins For Disney+’s New MCU Series

New Loki Poster: The Countdown Begins For Disney+'s New MCU Series

Marvel Studios has released a brand new poster for Disney+’s Loki, signaling that the four-week countdown for the Tom Hiddleston-led MCU series’ long-awaited debut has finally begun. Unlike previously released posters, this new Loki poster, which you check out below, now features the God of Mischief being accompanied by the other cast members including Owen Wilson’s Mobius, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Judge Renslayer, and Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15.

Loki is scheduled to debut on Wednesday, June 9, which will be the first MCU series that will take up that Disney+ timeslot, with both WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier previously premiering episodes on Fridays.

Loki will feature the return of Golden Globe winner Tom Hiddleston as the fan-favorite mischievous titular villain. The character was last seen in Avengers: Endgame, where he successfully had stolen the Tesseract during Iron Man and Ant-Man’s failed attempt to retrieve it. Because of this, the God of Mischief has been arrested by the Time Variance Authority, a bureaucratic organization that exists outside of time and space, due to the damage he had done with the timeline. Now, he must willingly work with the TVA in order to fix the reality he broke or else face deletion from existence.

The series will also be introducing new characters to the MCU, including Sophia Di Martino (Yesterday, Flowers, Into the Badlands), Owen Wilson (The Royal Tenenbaums), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Black Mirror: San Junipero), Cailey Fleming (The Walking Dead), and Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Sasha Lane (American Honey) and Wunmi Mosaku (Lovecraft Country).

Loki is led by executive producer and head writer Michael Waldron (Rick and Morty), with Kate Herron as the director. Waldron is also the scribe for Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which Loki will reportedly have ties into just like with WandaVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’ Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, and Kate Herron.
