Harley Quinn Season 3 Greenlit at HBO Max!
Harley Quinn renewed for a third season at HBO Max
Three months after the Harley Quinn series concluded its 13-episode second season last June, HBO Max has decided to renew Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker and Dean Lorey’s popular adult-animated series for a third season. In a recent interview with Comic Book, Halpern and Schumacker have confirmed that the series might make its return in late 2021.
“That would be the earliest I could see,” Halpern. “I mean, maybe not, I don’t know… I think Jen Coyle, our head of animation could probably answer that a lot better.”
“We were aiming for late 2021 all the way back in like the spring when there was first an inkling that a season three could be a reality,” Schumacker added. “These conversations that were happening that were sort of well above our pay grade have been going… it had been very extensive.”
The series’ move from DC Universe to HBO Max comes as no surprise as fans have been anticipating this for quite some time. This renewal also comes with Warner Bros. official announcement that DC Universe will no longer be offering scripted original shows as it is set to be rebranded as a sole premium comic book service that will be called as DC Universe Infinite.

The titular crazy beloved villain will be voiced by Big Bang Theory‘s Kaley Cuoco. The voice cast also includes Lake Bell (Children’s Hospital) as Poison Ivy, Alan Tudyk (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Joker, Ron Funches (Powerless) as King Shark, JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) as Frank the Plant, Jason Alexander (Seinfeld) as Sy Borgman, Wanda Sykes (Black-ish) as Queen of Fables, Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) as Lex Luthor, Natalie Morales (Bojack Horseman), Jim Rash (Mike Tyson Mysteries) as Riddler, Diedrich Bader (Veep) as Batman, Tony Hale (Arrested Development, Veep) as Dr. Psycho, Chris Meloni (Happy!) as Commissioner Gordon, Rahul Kohli (iZombie) as Scarecrow, Sanaa Lathan (The Twilight Zone) as Catwoman, Vanessa Marshall as Wonder Woman and Jacob Tremblay as Robin.
The series will follow Harley Quinn‘s adventures after her break with the Joker. The story will focus on Harley along with Poison Ivy and other DC castoffs as they try to help each other in order to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom. The first season ended on an exciting cliffhanger, with the story for the second chapter still being kept under wraps.
