‘The High Note’ Review: A Tepid Drama That’s Frequently Off Key

Nisha Ganatra's new movie The High Note starts off fairly promising. It's about an assistant who wants to be a producer and an acclaimed singer who's torn between the safety of a Vegas residency where she'd only play hits and taking a gamble on a new album. That's a great premise, especially when you have the opportunity to watch two women collaborate on an artistic project.
